You are only limited by your imagination when it comes to design ideas.  A wide variety of choices are available for edge profiles from pencil, bevel, and half bullnose to cove, Dupont, classical and everything in between. There are very few limitations to the different shapes that can be created for your countertop from rectangular, to multi-angled, to graceful ellipses or circles.

Sinks can be installed in either a drop-in or an undermount application. Drop-ins (sinks or stoves) are cut out on site to minimize the potential for damage during shipping. Undermounts are finished in the shop and must therefore be handled carefully. If an undermount is desired in a long piece (8 feet or more) of 25 inch counter, it is necessary to maintain a minimum width of about 4 inches around the sink in order to retain enough strength for shipping. All sink and stove openings are reinforced with steel on the underside of counter. Brass inserts are embedded into the top on the underside to accommodate sink clips for undermount applications.

It is often asked if granite stains. Granite is a porous stone despite its high density. We therefore seal all tops with a high quality silicone stone impregnator after installation which makes the top very resistant to staining. As a precaution, we still suggest avoiding prolonged contact with things that are extremely acidic (like a lemon) or extremely greasy. We recommend resealing once a year, which is a simple process that can be done by the owner with products available through Classic Granite & Soapstone.

There are two options for adding custom designs to your granite.  First, a design you provide may be carved into your granite tiles using sandblasting.  Second, a new technique of laser etching allows any photo to be transferred to the surface of your granite.
